INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 4 tbsp melted, unsalted sweet cream butter
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 12 sliced French bread

Directions:

Whisk eggnog, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter and pumpkin pie spice together in a mixing bowl until well blended; pour into a shallow dish. Preheat an electric skillet to 250°F. Lightly grease the skillet.

Dip one slice of bread at a time into the eggnog mixture, being sure to coat each side of the bread thoroughly. It’s best if the bread is soaked in the mixture before placing it on the skillet. Place prepared bread slices into the preheated skillet, and cook, turning once, until golden brown on each side.

Place cooked bread slices on a serving plate and cover with foil to keep warm until all the slices are cooked. Serve immediately.

Tip: After plating, lightly dust with powdered sugar and add a dollop of whip cream for added flavor, texture and appearance.
