INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup peeled cucumber, diced
  • 1/3 cup red onion
  • 1/4 cup tomato, diced and seeded
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 tbsp oil (or Ghee)
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1 tsp mustard seed

Mix Yogurt, salt, carrots, cucumber, onion, tomato, and jalapeno together in a small bowl. Place the oil in a frying pan and set to medium heat. Add the mustard seed and urad dal to the oil. Sauté until the urad dal turns golden brown, then remove from heat. Add the sautéed mustard seed and oil into the yogurt mixture and stir together to enjoy! Serve with curry, biriyani or any of your favorite Indian dishes!
