French Onion Dip

This French onion dip is rich, creamy, and utterly irresistible! Sweet caramelized onions blend perfectly with cream cheese, sour cream and Greek yogurt for a smooth, flavorful dip. A hint of Worcestershire and spices adds depth, making it the perfect match for chips or veggies. Warning: it disappears fast!

  • 3 tbsp salted butter
  • 2 ½ cups diced yellow onion (1 ½ to 2 onions)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature, cut into cubes
  • ½ cup light mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt

Directions

  • Caramelize the Onions: Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add diced onions, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for another 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and Greek yogurt. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  • Incorporate the Onions: Add the cooled caramelized onions to the mixture and stir until fully combined.
  • Chill & Serve: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld. Serve with crinkle-cut potato chips or fresh veggies. Enjoy!
